Calling all landowners:
Have you been considering protecting your land for future generations? Has this been on your mind for weeks/ months/ years? Well, there's no time like the present! We here at Blue Mountains Conservancy are stepping our conservation into high gear in 2017, and we need your help if we are going to succeed. Not only is there power in cooperation between landowners like you and land trusts like us, there is power in information! We hope to provide you with both. If you have always wondered how exactly conservation easements work or how to initiate a donated or purchased easement, now is the time to find out! We are pleased to announce that Nancy Duhnkrack will present "Conservation Options for Landowners" on Thursday, May 18th, in La Grande. (More details TBA.) Nancy is a 1985 graduate of Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College. She retired in 2014 as Staff Attorney/Law Clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit after 20 years at the Court. She was an Adjunct Professor at the law school from 1990-2010 and is a frequent speaker on conservation easement design and enforcement. Nancy coordinates the pro bono program for the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts (COLT) and provides pro bono legal advice to COLT for its members. Admission will be free but, as always, donations are gladly accepted. |
